In December of 2005, the Lord gave Overseer J.D. Webb the vision to plant a new church. At the time, he was the pastor of Zion Friendship Baptist Church in Eutaw, Alabama. When Overseer Webb received the vision, he set a plan in motion to plant a church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He gave Zion Friendship a three-month notice of his departure. In March of 2006, he left Zion Friendship and began the implementation of the vision. Overseer Webb met with 16 people at his house regarding the new church plant. That meeting marked the inception of Faith Apostolic Christian Center. Worship services would begin in April. It was the initial plan to have worship services at the Ramada Inn in Tuscaloosa. However, Overseer Webb located a place to worship on Queen City Avenue. The church acquired two office buildings that would serve as the worship nucleus for FACC. On the first Sunday in April, FACC held its first worship service. To Overseer Webb’s surprise, 41 members attended the service. The ministry has grown physically and spiritually since its inception. During 2006, Overseer Webb was consecrated to the Office of Bishop in the International Covenant Ministries Fellowship, Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Robert M. Taylor Sr. FACC is a church that focuses on the complete man: the spiritual man, the physical man, the mental man, the financial man, and the emotional man. There are ministries that focus on all aspects of a person’s life at FACC. Some of these ministries are a men’s ministry, a women’s ministry, a youth ministry, an outreach ministry, a nursery ministry, a college ministry, and a video ministry. There are two Bible Study times each week. They are on Thursdays at noon and at 7:00p.m. The time for New Member Training is on Thursday’s at 7:00p.m. The Sunday School of Ministry is each Sunday at 9:30a.m. FACC prides itself on reaching out to people in the community in many ways. FACC members cook and serve at the Community Soup Bowl Kitchen. The members also reach out by providing food and fun on Christian Night Life where the members dance, sing, provide a comedy hour, and receive a word from the Lord. FACC has a rich beginning, and a bright future. Come and visit us where there is Vision, Mission, and Victory.
